Organization name Coalition for Children Slovakia
Event Country Slovakia
Event Region Europe
Event Location Details The flagship event "Drum with us for children´s rights" will take place in the capital city of Slovakia - Bratislava.
This event will be supported by similar smaller events in cities all around the country (e.g. Nitra, Zvolen, Dolný Kubín, Žilina, Prešov).
Date(s) 19 November
Description of Activities The flagship event is planned around 2 important days:
18 November - European Day on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse
and
19 November - World Day on the Prevention of Child Abuse.

In Slovakia, several NGOs work to improve policies, services that protect children and their rights. Their voice, however, is fragmented and barely audible due to other problems the country is facing. This is why we feel like we need to use all means of drawing attention to problems of children. The event “Drum with us for children´s rights” is one of them.

During the flagship event, children and teachers from schools from Bratislava, and – hopefully also – onlookers will have an opportunity to make some noise to spread awareness about children´s rights, and about violence many children encounter in their lives. All participants will meet on one of the squares in Bratislava and drum with whatever they think can make the loudest noise.

At the same time, many schools from all over the country will hold separate events in their cities. Other organizations, associations, clubs, companies, sport clubs, informal groups, etc. will be encouraged to join and drum for children´s rights.

Children and adults can drum anywhere – indoors, outdoors, in classrooms, on playgrounds, and with anything they find suitable – drums and sticks, pots, plastic bottles…

Photos and videos of participating schools, clubs, etc. will be shared on the Facebook profile od Coalition for Children Slovakia.

Photos and videos of participating schools, clubs, etc. will be shared on the Facebook profile of Coalition for Children Slovakia: https://www.facebook.com/koaliciapredeti/
